International Women’s Strike Actions – 24 October

Caring for people & the planet — across every race, gender, & generation.

SNS is taking part in this historic event on 24 October (see below) and hope that folks in London will join us at 11am in Parliament Square. There will be more details about other actions in the area.  If you can’t be in London – maybe you can strike in your area!  Some creative ideas here on how to take part – see also Women*Rising toolkit.

We’re calling for support to mothers to keep children and families together to be prioritised, and demanding money to mothers and other carers who do the work of caring for and raising children. Mothers and children have the legal right to financial and other support and we are determined that we will get it. We are part of the movement of mothers to change the priorities of children’s social care, to shut down the child removal industry which profits from our misery and to stop forced adoptions. The brutal separation of children from their mothers and other primary carers must end; family courts must be open to public scrutiny. Take Away our Poverty NOT our Children!

  •   To demand systemic changes that prioritise survival and wellbeing over profit.
  • To advocate for peace, liberation and a just world for all.
  • To affirm our commitment to Palestinians beginning with women and children, and demand an end to every genocide.
