NEW DEADLINE Wednesday 3 September. Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights is inviting evidence from the public about how well the human rights of children in England are protected in the social care system. Their focus is on children “in care”, but they are also asking about kinship care, disabled children, Deprivation of Liberty orders, how children in “care” are accommodated , . . .
The deadline is Wednesday 3 September and there is an online survey which anyone can answer, as well as questions to use as the basis of evidence. We will be filing our own evidence to show how children’s and mothers’ human rights are routinely violated in family courts including by devaluing the mother/child bond, separation from siblings, forced adoption, poverty conflated with neglect and abuse in the “care” system.
If you and your children have been affected by dealings with social workers, child protection and/or family court proceedings, this is your chance to describe the ways in which your and your children’s human rights have been violated.
