| Please join us in supporting this rally: Stop Sending Pregnant Women to Prison, organised by Level Up , Sat 4 Dec, 12-2pm at St James’ Park, London (Meet us at St James tube station at 11.45). Every year pregnant women are detained and give birth in UK prisons: 1 in 10 give birth in their cell or on the way to hospital and in the past two years two babies have died. Level Up is pressing for new laws which would ensure that judges legally have to consider the health of pregnant women and their babies, and avoid sending them to prison at all costs. We’re glad to have been invited to speak on this important issue, and will be going with other groups from the Crossroads Women’s Centre: Women of Colour in the Global Women’s Strike @woc_gws and the All African Women’s Group @AfricanGr. This is an opportunity to change a cruel law and to protect some of the most vulnerable women in society! Please spread the word!
